Ford Escort Mk2 1600 Sport. RHD import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. Nova declaration has been done and we will complete all the Uk registration paperwork in the new owners name. This one is a very solid car which appears to have had a lot of money spent on it fairly recently. Everything has either been rebuilt, refurbished or replaced
Body - Export spec 1600 Sport shell with extra strengthening similar to our RS models. Good original inner wings, strut tops, sills, arches, floors, Has all been painted body colour underneath. no signs of any nasty patches on floors. Has had minor repairs in boot wells. Looks a very good shell. Paintwork is really nice. Panel gaps are good and the car is really straight along the sides. Really good looking old car.
Mechanics - Good 1600 crossflow with standard twin choke weber, Starts runs and drives very well and feels nice and tight. Carb may need adjusted due to the different climate. Standard 4 speed box fitted. Poly bushing on front. New TCAS, Adjustable camber strut tops. Everything looks like its been cleaned and painted.
Interior - Seats have been retrimmed with the original style pattern and its a very nice job. Good door cards, carpet and headlining. Dash top is good. Speedo not working but we will have a look at that this week.
Wheels - JBW 4 spokes which the owner must have imported from the UK with 50 series Yokohama tyres.
