The 1954 Alfa Romeo 1900 CSS Ghia Speciale (01949) is rare and highly sought-after. Designed by Carrozzeria Ghia on the Alfa Romeo 1900 platform, the CSS (Coupé Sport Speciale) version was a high-performance variant, and the Ghia Speciale added even more style and luxury to the mix.
The bodywork of the Ghia Speciale was handcrafted by Ghia, and featured distinctive elements such as the large front grille, flowing lines, and a low-slung profile.
Under the hood, the 1900 CSS Ghia Speciale (engine AR1318 09955) was powered by a 1. 9-liter inline-four engine, which produced around 115 horsepower. This may not sound like much by modern standards, but it was enough to propel the car to a top speed of around 115 miles per hour.
Only ten 1900 CSS Ghia Speciale models were built, making them extremely rare and valuable today.
This example has had a conversion from column to floor shift on its 5 speed box. In the same collection since 2005 this car has an older restoration and is a lovely example to drive and enjoy.
