Body / Exterior:
The example shown here is a LOTUS Elan S1 cabriolet from January 1964 in colour "British Racing Green/ Yellow".
The paint is still in very good condition, with a uniform hue and excellent gloss.
After a professional orbital polish by our workshop, we noted some micro-crumbing and light delamination on the front face and boot lid, a small paint chip at the top of the passenger door repaired, and a slight misalignment at the lower door edges.
The PVC soft-top in Black is in very good condition and its seal remains in line with era standards.
The depression-pop-up headlights are fully functional, though a little slow to open.
The chrome 'Obus' mirrors are in good condition.
This instance is equipped with a 6-point roll cage.
The four original 13" grey steel wheels are in perfect condition.
The four FIRESTONE tyres show 30% wear at the front and 40% at the rear.
This example retains its original spare wheel.
Among exterior features of interest are: chrome 'Obus' mirrors and the 6-point roll cage.

Interior:
The interior retains its original configuration.
It was restored in 2017 (invoice available) and remains in pristine presentation.
Black faux-leather upholstery is in excellent condition.
Black door panels are in good condition except for the driver’s door, which has a small nick (10 cm).
The central armrest in black is in perfect condition.
The wooden dashboard is in very good condition, with no cracks.
The black dash cap is in good condition with a slight deformation.
SMITHS instrument cluster is fully functional.
The Lotus leather 3-spoke steering wheel and Lotus wooden gear knob are in very good condition with light patina.
Black carpets are in good condition, with no wear or fading.
This example is equipped with a battery cut-off switch and a SABELT extinguisher.
Among interior items of interest are the 3-spoke leather steering wheel, the Lotus wooden gear knob, the battery cut-off and the SABELT extinguisher.

Chassis:
On the hoist, the chassis is ladder-frame and the polyester body is sound with no visible structural corrosion.
The basics—floor pans, sills and wheel arches—are in good order.
Note: we cannot guarantee perfect alignment beyond what is visually and functionally validated during road testing and on the hoist.
During the dynamic test, no abnormal rattles were detected from the body or running gear (joints, bushings...).
Handling is improved by the presence of 4 SPAX dampers.
Braking is balanced, stable and progressive, with no vibrations or unusual noises.
Brake efficiency is aided by 4 aviation-type brake hoses.
Front and rear discs show 20% wear.
Front and rear brake pads show 40% wear and 20% wear respectively.
The pre-delivery technical inspection carried out by our workshop will confirm overall operation.

Engine / Transmission:
The 1600 FORD Twin Cam engine is in very good working order.
It was rebuilt by a specialist in 2017 (invoice: €11, 958).
During this work the following were carried out: engine removal/ refit, valve cleaning and micro-blasting, valve guide replacement and calibration, valve seat reconditioning, bore and honing of cylinders, camshaft bearing replacement and crankshaft regrinding.
The water pump was replaced in 2024 (invoice available).
Reliability is improved by an additional electric cooling fan.
Compression test and road test conducted by our workshop confirm a healthy 4-cylinder engine.
Starts easily, with no smoke or unusual noises and idle is stable, as shown in the 360° video with the engine running at the start of the slideshow.
Cold oil pressure is 60 psi at 800 rpm.
The Ford Twin Cam 4-cylinder sound is enhanced by a stainless secondary silencer.
The 4-speed gearbox shifts smoothly with no hiccups, particularly the synchros.
The clutch kit was replaced new in 2024 (invoice available).
As with many classic engines, engine/ gearbox/ axle seals remain average.
