L'atelier des 1000 is delighted to present for sale this superb Austin Healey 100/ 4 type BN1 in an elegant and purposeful configuration with its non-metallic grey finish and interior combining grey and navy blue.
The big Healey, whose styling was penned by Gerry Coker, rarely leaves one unmoved, but it's undoubtedly the first series that captivates us with the charm of this mythical British Roadster. Three-speed gearbox, folding windscreen, an enormous grille... these are all the distinctive features that transport us to another era.
Imported to France in 2012 from the USA by its current French owner, he now wishes to part with it and has entrusted it to us for sale.
The model we present to you underwent a comprehensive restoration between 2015 and 2020.
A file documents numerous invoices and restoration photographs.
The engine has been thoroughly overhauled, including amongst others:

The engine, barely run-in, starts with ease, without noise or smoke and delivers its full power.
The 100M kit providing an additional 20bhp for a total output of 110bhp against 90 originally, all delivered with an intoxicating soundtrack – thrills guaranteed!
The running gear is precise, and the braking system was completely rebuilt in 2020, proving perfectly effective and balanced.
As beautiful underneath as in presentation, the restoration has been carried out to the highest standards and was not done on a budget.
In August 2019, the bodywork received a complete respray and treatment of all areas requiring it; the floorpans were also replaced.
The windscreen was replaced at the same time to ensure excellent visibility.
The interior trim is superb; the carpets were custom-made in velvet with bound edges over a double-layer insulation fitted beforehand. The boot was also trimmed at the same time.
The dashboard is painted body colour with aluminium detailed around the instruments.
A period wood-rimmed steering wheel replaces the original and imparts a decidedly British touch.
The wire wheels have been painted black by powder coating, whilst the chrome is in excellent condition and perfectly gleaming.
The vehicle is supplied with a tonneau cover and hood in navy blue alpaca, as well as a set of side screens.
