Description

AC Ace Bristol BEX 133 is an anomaly. A serious race car with its original engine and all of its original components (except for one cylinder head) for starters.
Raced from 1956 to 1961 with two Portuguese champion drivers, including the GT support race at the 1960 Portuguese Grand Prix at Boavista — a genuine round of the F1 World Championship that weekend — and the 1961 Monte Carlo Rally, starting from Lisbon.
Bex 133 sports a fresh restoration verified by the AC/ Aceca Bristol Register (see below). Four owners from new, with the current owner purchasing the car in November 1967 (58 years of continuity), she still carries the same number plate from day one.
BEX 133 is accepted into every major vintage race in existence: Mille Miglia, Le Mans, Goodwood, etc.
This is an excerpt from a Registrar and historian of the ACOC concerning BEX133:
"Ace Bristol BEX133 is a very well known, documented and restored Ace Bristol. Tony Bancroft, Tim Isles, and I — three Ex-ACOC Ace Bristol Registrars — have liaised with Amaral Neto and Adelino Dinis and can vouch for the authenticity of BEX133. In the past few weeks I furnished Adelino and Amaral with a copy of BEX133 as handwritten in the AC Ace Build/ Despatch Book in 1956... a. k. a. 'The AC Bible.' Plus a copy from my Ace Bristol Electronic Register dated 30th December 2025."
BEX 133 has known ownership history (four owners from new), in current long-term ownership (58 years), retains the valuable original engine (cylinder head not original) and original components, boasts racing history driven by Portuguese champions in period, has a fresh nut-and-bolt restoration, the support of the three Ex-ACOC Ace Bristol Registrars, and extensive documentation that accompanies the car.
Adding to the attractive opportunity to own this historic competition race car is that the story of BEX 133 has never been told and it will be a new and refreshing addition to the race scene whatever Continent is lucky to have her grace their tracks next.
