Children’s car, not approved for road use ‘Remarkable bodywork, one-of-a-kind, ideal for Little Big Le Mans’ The Mercedes-Benz W125 is a Grand Prix car that enabled Rudolf Caracciola to win his second European Drivers’ Championship title in 1937. With its supercharged inline-8 engine producing over 600 ch, it was the world’s most powerful racing car for over 30 years, capable of speeds in excess of 300 km/ h. Around ten were built, and two remain in running condition: one at the brand’s museum in L’Etoile, and one from Bernie Ecclestone’s collection. This exceptional Silver Arrow (Siberpfeil) was built as a scale model and will need to be fitted with an engine – either a combustion engine or an electric motor – to be eligible to compete, for example, in the iconic Little Big Le Mans. It could also find a home in a museum or a major German collection alongside an authentic surviving example… Approximately 3. 20 m long, it comes with its construction plans, stamped ‘Hunting Engineering Limited’ – the famous British aeronautical company – and was likely built over 70 years ago.
