First registered GL 97899 on May 17th 1947 the month after type production began, Original colour of Shires Green and Elizabeth Grey maintained. Interior brown seats and panels with black carpet. Wooden dash and door trim. Opening windscreen. Very usefully sized boot.
Strong MG ladder chassis carrying MG / Morris four seat body design. This car was of innovating concept being the first to use the double wishbone Issigonis coil spring front suspension. Rack & pinion steering, Panhard Rod locates the underslung rear axle.
1250cc XPAG engine with MG gear box.
The car was bought from the first owner in 1957 and is still family owned it needed a rebuild 40 years later. Body off, N & B job comprising running gear, engine & gearbox aiming to present a car using as many original parts as possible; successful. The car has twice represented The Y Register at MG Live, Silverstone in the tent. Regular participant in The MGCC Y Register Spring Run, Kimber Trial finisher 2003 (why not?). Diamond Jubilee relay participant 2017.
