The Jaguar Type E Series 1/ 2 4. 2L presented here embodies the absolute elegance of the great British grand tourer. This example benefited from a full restoration. The bodywork was completely dismantled, straightened and adjusted with remarkable precision. Each panel was prepared meticulously to obtain perfectly clean lines. The car then received its new Gun Metal finish, applied using a premium process to guarantee depth and uniformity. The chrome elements were refurbished or replaced to regain their original shine.
Under the bonnet, the 4. 2L engine was completely rebuilt after a full dismantling. All mechanical parts were checked, restored or replaced in accordance with period specifications. The gearbox also underwent a complete overhaul to ensure smoothness and precision. The cooling system and peripherals were rebuilt to guarantee optimal reliability. The running gear, suspension and brakes were restored to offer flawless road holding. The steering was revised to recapture the authentic feel unique to Series 1.
The interior underwent equally careful work, with a complete re-trim. The leather, carpets and fittings were crafted from materials matching the original. The dashboard was restored with its period instruments fully functional. The wooden steering wheel and interior details recall the classic charm of the Type E from the sixties. Each element contributes to recreating the unique ambience of the Type E from the era. The alignment of doors, bonnets and glazing has been refined to ensure an impeccable presentation.
Thanks to this complete restoration, the car is today in a remarkable state. It offers the prestige, finesse and personality of an icon magnified by exceptional craftsmanship.
