The Jaguar Type E Series 1/ 2 4. 2L presented here embodies the absolute elegance of British grand touring. This example benefited from a full restoration. The bodywork was completely dismantled, straightened and adjusted with remarkable precision. Each panel was meticulously prepared to achieve perfectly clean lines. The car then received its new Gun Metal colour, applied using a premium process to guarantee depth and uniformity. The chromed elements were renovated or replaced to regain their original shine.
Under the bonnet, the 4. 2L engine was rebuilt completely after a full dismantling. All mechanical parts were checked, restored or replaced in accordance with the period specifications. The gearbox also underwent a full overhaul to ensure smoothness and precision. The cooling system and peripherals were rebuilt to guarantee optimal reliability. The running gear, suspension and brakes were restored to offer impeccable handling. The steering was revised to regain the authentic feel unique to Series 1.
The interior underwent equally meticulous work, with a completely rebuilt upholstery. Leather, carpets and trim were made in materials matching the originals. The dashboard was restored with its period instruments perfectly functional. The wooden steering wheel and interior details recall the classic charm of the model. Each element helps recreate the unique ambience of the Type E of the sixties. The alignment of doors, bonnets and glazing has been perfected to guarantee an exemplary presentation.
