Produced between September 1967 and January 1970, the Mini Mk2 Cooper S is undoubtedly the best blend of the Mk1’s eccentricity and the Mk3’s practicality. During this two-and-a-half-year period, BMC built a total of 6, 329 of these fabulous cars – split into 2, 687 Austin variants and 3, 642 of the Morris equivalent.
It is with great pleasure that we present this unique example, as rare as hen’s teeth: a Morris Mini Mk2 Cooper S, completely original and still entirely in its original paint. This fantastic Mini was delivered new in Sweden in April 1968, and has had only 3 owners since. The first owner, Mr. Stig Lunisson, equipped the car with a Corbeau sport seat when new. That is why the original driver’s seat is still in the car and in NEARLY NEW condition. The carpets, headlining, passenger seat and rear bench are all still original. The bodywork of this Mini Cooper S is even more astonishing, as there is no sign of rust and it is still 100% in its original paint. The Mini is currently mounted on Rose Petal alloy wheels shod with new Dunlop SP Sport tyres in 165/ 70R10, and the original white-painted steel wheels are also included. This must be one of the rare Minis in the world in such a condition, and on top of that it is the most interesting 1275 Cooper S version.
This is a genuine collectible, as a car is original only once. It is practically impossible to find another 1960s Mini Cooper S like this, and it is a unique opportunity to add such an iconic little car to a world-class collection.
