The 1969 Porsche 911 marked a turning point in the evolution of the 911, with the introduction of a slightly longer wheelbase (57 mm), considerably improving handling and stability, a notable improvement in response to criticisms of the nervous handling of the old short-wheelbase cars. Launched as the entry-level model in the range, the letter “T” stood for Touring, offering a more affordable alternative to the higher-performing 911E and 911S. Powered by a 2. 0-litre air-cooled flat-six engine developing 110 horsepower, the 911T retained the signature light agility that made the Porsche 911 renowned.
