The Appeal
In the 1950s, Brit bikes were beginning to battle for global dominance. It would be a short-lived, much-loved period, and the Norton Dominator 99 was one of the undisputed leaders of the era. Making use of Norton's new featherlight frame, this was one of the larger capacity bikes of the era, and quickly garnered a fierce reputation. While they weren't the fastest out there, they proved incredibly dependable, and many owners held onto them for decades.
This '59 example is no exception, having been with the same family since it was fresh out of the factory. Boasting the rarer straight handlebars, which were only matched up to a limited number of bikes, this fabulous example was restored between 2002 and 2012, and still presents beautifully. Factor in the impressive amount of period paperwork, and you've got quite the prospect. image.png3.88 MB
