Description

Model history: In October 1952, Donald Healey unveiled at Earls Court his latest prototype, fitted with a four-cylinder Austin A90-type engine. BMC were impressed by the car and decided to put it into production. In May 1953 the Austin Healey 100 officially hit the market, the designation Donald Healey 100 was given to emphasise its ability to reach 100 mph (160 km/ h). The Austin Healey 100 BN1, however, was powered by a 2, 660 cc four-cylinder engine producing 90 hp and a three-speed gearbox. In a test of the BN1 in 1953, the British magazine The Motor recorded impressive performance: a top speed of 171 km/ h, 0–100 km/ h in 11. 2 seconds and fuel consumption of 12. 6 l/ 100 km. The Austin Healey 100/ 4 BN1 was built only between 1952 and 1955 and enabled participation in major motor races and rallies, such as the Tour Auto and the Mille Miglia. History of this Austin Healey 100 BN2: This is one of the rare Austin Healey BN2s delivered as a new car in France. It was delivered in January 1956 to its first owner in Paris, never left France, and was taken over in 2015 by its last owner. Bodywork: The car has excellent, sound bodywork, the chassis is perfectly aligned and corrosion-free. The door gaps are excellent and its perforated aluminium bonnet fits perfectly to the car. Old English White and the flanks are painted black with a light red outline. Upholstery: Its black leather upholstery is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina. The carpets and door panels are clean. The dashboard is black and silver, and it has a wood-rimmed steering wheel. It is equipped with its bonnet, side screens and rollover, all in black imitation leather. Engine: 2. 6 litre four-cylinder engine with Le Mans Kit, matching numbers and in perfect condition, fully overhauled, engine regularly serviced with excellent oil pressure. Transmission: 4-speed with overdrive, operation is smooth and the overdrive shifts quickly. Suspension: The front suspension is overhauled and the road holding is excellent. The behaviour of the suspension is perfect. There is no play or noise. The suspension is perfect. It has chrome wheels. Brakes: The four-wheel drum brakes prove to be perfect and true.
