With its distinctive pug-nosed profile, the Bedford CA van was as endearing as it was roomy - and became, as a result, a natural subject for camper van conversions. It may have never hit the same popularity as its European counterparts, but dependent upon who you ask, is eminently more practical.
Customised by coachbuilder Martin Walter of Folkestone in Kent, the Dormobile could accommodate two sleepers, had a tilting, ventilated roof and sliding doors - all stitched together with a distinctly British milieu. As expected, it picked up a very dedicated cult following, one that it still fosters today.
This particular van, registered new in 1961, and is in excellent condition. It comes with a fully operational camping setup and is powered by a 1,600cc 4-cylinder petrol engine with a manual gearbox. The rarity and condition of this Bedford Dormobile make it a must-consider for any classic camper enthusiast.
