What an absolute once in a life time opportunity to own one of what I think is going to be one of those classics that in a few years time is going to be even more desirable than it already is! To find one on the road, running, can drive is a rare glorious thing!
Here we have a Ginetta G26 in grey and yellow, Desert Camo? Its had rear lights changed from rectangle to round, just like a Ferrari? front side light and indicators have had the same treatment.
The floor and tunnel area has been widened and can now accept alot more seats with more room to play with, currently fitted with escort Recaro seats, nice 80s style and comfort!
Most of these awesome cars came as 2. 0 or 1. 6 pinto with cortina running gear front and back mated to the 4speed box.
This one however is even more special, it was one of two (believed) that came from the factory with a very expensive rear end change. Its running a Seirra rear subframe/ diff/ suspension etc (could do with new rear shocks and springs as these seem to be lowering efforts with its long wheelbase it makes for a low car getting over speed bumps etc. new springs are £30 each looking on ebay)
Also has a type9 gearbox and is mated to a 205block 2. 0Ltr Pinto which is fitted with a new 4/ 2/ 1 manifold and exhaust system. Runs really well with a nice induction sound on acceleration, makes it a fun drive!
Car has had a new/ recon steering rack fitted which is manual as per std.
Yes those are fiesta mk2 doors, and rear windows.
The body is the worst bit (not the shape!) it will need fillering, cracks filling, lots of other bits and pieces and painting all that jazz. photos do not show how bad it is please dont tease yourself like I do. It has also had the rear arches lowered/ rear bumper corners modified all to bring the rear arches closer to the wheels.... by 100mm!! check out photos of others the arches std just look so wrong! this took alot of time and work to do but I was greatly offended by the std arches so this made me much happier but it was expensive to do, infact all the body work was, ah well!
Once your sat inside it enjoying the great handling (really is) you cant see the outside anyway! Inside it has a cortina dash front and rear seats and not much else, the sunroof doesn't leak but once painted you will want to put new rear/ side window seals on her as they do leak
It is very much a rolling project that has been great fun to own and drive (Did Lemans and back, 1200miles without missing a beat!) its got a galvanized chassis so much to my wifes dismay its not going to go anywhere fast in the way of rusting to pieces, Ha take that wife!
You need to view it to see it in all its glory, if you bid to buy without viewing first its your call, I wont be held liable if you dont like it! But seriously how could you not like it!! :0 Its old, fiberglass, British, ford parts galore so easy to maintain, leaks and needs much body work to sort it, if you can do that then your onto a fun driving winner!!
Read up about them, and Ginetta its a great way to waste an afternoon, once you do you will be wanting this car badly, im sure of it. If not buy it, run it, have a great time and then sell on like I am! Passed its MOT on the 28th May 2018 so lots of time to keep this as a rolling driving project!

I have the V5c, and the date of first registration was Aug 1979 - what a great year?! Also it is registered as a Ginetta, as thats what it is.

This Ginetta has the potential to become Tax and possibly MOT free during some point next year? Please make your own mind up and investigate through the . GOV website if you feel that it will, its a 40year rolling term now. I wont be held responsible if you decide to buy on this basis, things like that never bother me, if I want a car you have to pay etc. Also I still MOT my other old car even though I dont need to for piece of mind.
