LANDROVER DEFENDER SIX WHEEL DRIVE - RESTORED
This is a rare opportunity to purchase a Nut and Bolt rebuilt Defender V8 6X6.
Unique and Rare
This vehicle is just 1 of 2 examples ever made, which naturally makes it one of the rarest Landrover Defenders ever made.
Looking at the vehicle head on, you'd assume a relatively standard Stage 1 V8 were sat in front of you, But the side profile tells a different story.
At the rear, this Stage 1 has gained an extra axle, two wheels and now boasts six-wheel drive.
The reason for its existence is down to Townley Cross-Country Vehicles, a company renowned for it's conversions in the 1980's.
Townley, along with another Stage 1 V8, converted this vehicle before it was used as a cherry picker for a number of years. Originally, it is understood that this 6X6 was built in 1981, but it was only registered in 1986 (Hence the 'C' registration prefix).
The previous owner (A Landrover Specialist) actually owned the vehicle twice. First it was owned in 1995 then re-purchased ten years later. He decided to start a very special rebuild that took 2 years to bring this 6X6 back to top condition.
Starting with the brand new BESPOKE one-piece chassis, everything was re-built or replaced.
It was stripped down in order for the underpinnings to be sorted, then the engine and gearbox was fitted in with the new heads, valves and seals, followed by the clutch and transfer box.
The 6X6 then received a brand new bulkhead along with a number of other panels, including Townley bespoke wheel arches making the result "Simply Stunning".

Stacks of documentation including receipts from the restoration totalling a trade value of over £14, 000 in parts alone.
A huge photo album from the build at various stages are also collected on a disc.
It goes without saying that this vehicle wouldn't look out of place in a museum or as a part of a unique car collection to be enjoyed for years to come!!
