We are delighted to present for sale this high-specification lightweight - complete with its military registration, plates and history (listed below the advert), along with a large folder of receipts for maintenance and works completed.
On the outside, there are lots of original military features one would wish to see - the bonnet mounted spare, front and rear bumperettes, military lifting eyes, NATO hitch, correct military lenses and pioneer tools... these are a real rarity now and it is great to see them attached and in good condition too. There are stickers relating to its actual military service too - backed up by the history record. There is a recent canvas, and a set of 750 chevron military tyres which aid gearing, are directional so self clean, and give a purposeful stance.
There are three standard front seats in the front, with matting to the footwells. A seat belt bar has been fitted to allow inertia 3 point belts to be fitted, which is a nice touch. Even the correct military fire extinguisher is retained in the passenger footwell which is great to see. The rear houses twin bench seats to allow seating for seven people.
Out on the road, the whisper quiet petrol engine is a joy - the 750 tyres give slightly more poke and a lower cruising RPM. It delivers a fine driving experience, as good as one can expect from a period, original lightweight.
In summary then, if you are looking for an extremely original, well sorted Lightweight with its full military history, then this could be for you. It should prove to be a strong investment, and with classic insurance and MOT & Tax exemption, should be cheap to run too. This lightweight would also be ideal for shows, events and military rallies!
