2006 Rover 75 V6 Connoisseur SE Auto, 24,000 miles For Sale

For sale is this 2006 Rover 75 2. 5 V6 Connoisseur SE auto saloon with a documented 24, 000 miles and finished in Cobalt blue metallic paint with a Charcoal leather interior.

It has an interesting history; it is believed to be one of the last 50 cars off the line before MG Rover went into administration. With that, MG Rover either made it for stock or it was a cancelled order because it sat unsold for around 18 months before being purchased by its first owner on 29th November 2006.
It lived down in South Devon until 2015 when the second owner; a car collector purchased it. He then owned it until 16th April 2019 before it passed via a garage onto Roger the current owner in June 2019.
Sadly, Roger recently passed away and his widow asked me for help with selling this lovely car and his other 75, a diesel estate. I am not a dealer, just an enthusiast who likes and appreciates anything with wheels and an engine so was only too happy to help.

As mentioned above, the car is finished in Cobalt blue, a lovely dark metallic colour with contrasting chrome mirrors. The paint is in fantastic condition for a fourteen year old car. I have just gone all over it, polishing and waxing it with Autoglym products and the only blemishes are a few isolated stone chips and the odd very light scratch. It absolutely gleams.

It is fitted with virtually unmarked Rover Meteor 17” wheels and a complete set of Avon ZV7 tyres which have covered around 4000 miles, as well as a full size spare.

The underneath is as you would expect of a car with this low mileage; very tidy with all suspension components maintaining their factory finish and looking very clean and original. It even appears to have its factory exhaust.

The interior upholstery is full Charcoal leather with cream piping. The car is fitted with the extended walnut package and a Wessex cloth roof liner.

The Connoisseur specification includes an optional glass sunroof, electric retractable rear sun blind, electrically adjustable, heated front seats with memory on the drivers seat, parking sensors climate control and cruise control. The aircon recently had a new compressor and is ice-cold.

The cars most recent visit to the garage is for its MOT in February 2020 at 24476 which highlighted that it requires new pads, again they look like the originals. It’s also just had a replacement battery.

It comes with a stack of receipts and Roger has even documented his fuel usage with amounts to a whole three fill ups since he purchased the car! The oil is clean and the coolant looks new.

Driving it is a pleasure. The KV6 2. 5l engine is smooth and the autobox shifts perfectly. It’s not fast but seems to accumulate speed well and sounds lovely.

The suspension has no creaks or rattles and is very comfortable, especially with those big tyre sidewalls. The brakes work fine even with the low pads, pulling up straight and true.

If I was keeping it (and I really would like to) I would budget for a service, front pad replacement and it’s worth mentioning that the button that operates the trip computer is playing up. Apparently, a common problem, usually a stray wire to the connection. I will look at this if I get time.
