1976 Range Rover, Suffix D, 2 door, 3. 5 V8 with a rare Land Rover approved FLM Panelcraft Ltd 4 door conversion.
I bought this 10 years ago, have the V5 in my name and it has been sat for all this time, the last tax disc expired in October 2002, the previous owner had her since 1987.
Showing just over 88000 miles it is the 3538cc V8 with a manual gearbox.
Fitted with the then Land Rover factory approved 4 door conversion which were mainly exported to Middle Eastern countries at the time, this was years before Land Rover started to offer 4 door versions of their own.
The front doors were shortened, a pair of new doors were then also shortened and cut to shape around the rear wheel arch.
The rear door handles were cut down versions to match the front doors.
Sliding windows in the rear doors were standard fitment in the 1970's which seem old fashioned by todays standards.
It also has the optional i believe full length Webasto sunroof and quad lamp grille fitted by FLM
The alloy wheels are Wolfrace alloys, it has twin shocks at the rear with Monroe air ones, the bumpers front and rear are the original chrome one's that have been painted at some point, all the glass including the rear lights have been etched with the original registration number, the supplying British Leyland dealer number plate and rear window sticker are still on the car.
She is for sale as a complete restoration case, if you can think of a part then it will need rebuilding, replacing or restoring to get her back on the road.
Be under no illusion this will cost thousands of pounds in parts, labour and time sourcing the necessary parts but when you look at how rare an opportunity this is, it will be worth the effort for an special individual or a Range Rover specialist team restoring her to her former glory which at the time would have been enjoyed by a select few in the UK and normally by the oil rich Middle East business business people of the time.
