We just love RS200’s and none more so than this extreme and concours one we have here. Starting life as a Ford Motor Company demo car promoting Group 1 modifications and tuning upgrades to the dealer network - this is no ordinary RS. It is fitted with upgrades to brakes, suspension, anti-roll, dive kit and BHP boost with twin IDF Webbers, bespoke inlet manifold and large bore exhaust.
Following a careful start to life this car then ended up in the hands of a Ford racing privateer and RS fanatic who owned the car for the next 25 years which included some racing during this time.
This period was followed by another RS fanatic who back in 2009 was offered this car and with its association with Group 1 and the modifications this car had – he just ‘had to have it’. A complete and professional quality restoration was underway and completed some years later. Much about this cars history and the detail of the restoration was featured in 2014 Classic Ford magazine supplied.
There is so much history and paperwork including dvd’s, photographs from past years, used car purchase invoices from as far back as 1981 and as recent as 2018, valuation certificates, tax discs, brochures, Daily Mail advert from 1980, Concours accolades from specialists original service book with early entries and more.
Its hard to find a nice RS and we have here arguably the best we have seen and strongly recommend you pay us a visit to see for yourself as this is as close to new as you will find.
