This superb driving, strong usable MG Midget has come to us from one of our long term regular customers in South Yorkshire. The MG is an ideal entry level classic, its proven reliable, and is in impressive mechanical condition with a strong, fit and healthy engine and lovely slick gearbox. To further support the cars usability, classic car journalist Nick Larkin described the car as looking and acting the part when conducting a feature in October 2019.
The MG has been covering very low mileage over recent years but has been in relatively regular use. Recent work (2019) includes a new hood, new wheel cylinders, trunnion bushes, new brake pressure switch, re-conditioned steering rack, track rod ends, throttle cable, fuel pipe and a comprehensive service and the car has arrived with us ‘on the button'.
Our Midget was subject of a renovation program during the 1990's and has been very well maintained since. An MG Specialist carried out a light body restoration that included various new panels and metal work. A file of invoices dating back to the early 1980's accompanies the car and a host of invoices since restoration are with the car for work to include an unleaded cylinder head conversion, new clutch kit, king pins details good maintenance.
MOT's date back 27 years and confirm the MG has covered 27000 miles. The car has been a good weather use car and has clearly proven a reliable open top classic. Our MG drives really well, it feels tight on the road, the engine is lovely and sweet and the bodywork is strong, straight with good panels and bright paintwork. The Midget has a well-presented upholstery, excellent hood and is ideal for a regular use and is priced sensibly offering a great entry into the classic car market.
