I have owned this car for a few years now, and enjoyed it, but not as often as I would like hence the sale.
From my research, This is a particularly rare example of an already rare car!
Although many would argue the 2. 5v6 model is superior, these 2. 0 are great engines. Being Mazda based they are super reliable and pretty poky, you would struggle to tell the difference on an average drive! There wasn't a lot in it when new if you look at the figures. What you do get is easier and cheaper to maintain, and run, but with just as much fun!
Now back to the rarity. According to "howmanyleft" there are only 121 of these on the road in the UK. What makes this one special is the extras. It was ordered not only with the "PLUS PACK", but with the METALLIC PAINT, SUNROOF, SECURITY FRONT FACED STEREO, LEATHER TRIM and LEATHER SEATS, which were all only available on order extras according to the sales brochure.
A car that comes with modern safety features, a large boot, economical and fun to drive, that is only getting rarer and rarer to find, and probably increasing in value each year, this modern classic is a perfect bet!
This is a real driver's car, with those added extras, it's an ideal car you can use every day, or for a weekend drive.
It comes with the standard blue ford folder containing the user manual, service book, sound system and radio code etc...
I also have an original "launch pack", containing a brochure, price guide, ford phones and a BBC Top Gear Magazine test report. All very interesting to read, and should stay with the car.
Despite how great this car is, I would recommend viewing first, it is nearly 30 years old and unfortunately shows its age on the bodywork. The central locking works, but I only have two keys and no fob. Again, the sunroof works but is very slow, and the boot struts have finally given up on me.
It's a great car in general for its age, but an even better car if you want a modern classic that's only getting harder to find, gives you a smile and with potential to be a great show car if you fancy it.
