HISTORY
The MG TF was the last series of MG's T-series; before a new era of A, B and C were built by "Morris Garage" (MG).
The TF was an inexpensive and popular British car that was also sought after and sold well in the USA. Especially the later TF, which was equipped with the new 1500 engine, came along easily in any traffic with its 63 hp, which is still the case today. This "matching numbers" TF 1500 also first found its way to the USA, as evidenced by the Heritage Certificate from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. Documents dating back to 1975 show that the car was in California until 1992, before it was imported to Sweden by a classic car enthusiast. It was not until 2016 that a well-known Swiss personality had the TF imported to Switzerland and maintained it in its original condition.

BODY AND PAINT
The body was restored from scratch and freshly painted in Old English White just over 10 years ago. Accordingly the paint quality is very good and only single traces of use and fine spotted areas show the life of the past years.
The bodywork is still immaculate and all screw fittings are as good as new. The gaps are in British precision, as you would expect, and without any conspicuousness. The chrome parts are also clean and without injury.
The soft top as well as the soft top tarpaulin were renewed a few years ago and a complete cockpit tarpaulin was newly sewn. The plug-in windows are not included and can be ordered as an option.

INTERIOR
The fresh leather and the well-kept door panels invite you to feel good. The dashboard is in body colour and the instruments are fully functional. The carpet landscape shows that quite a few trips have been made in the past 10 years since the restoration.

ENGINE AND MECHANICS
The uncomplicated mechanics show the serious care of this MG TF, which was exclusively taken to specialist workshops for a cure. The engine is in perfect condition, as are the ignition and carburettor systems. We do not know when the engine was overhauled. Based on the presentation and the engine values, it is not more than 10'000 to 15'000km ago. This classic will also be freshly presented and fully inspected at the time of sale.

DRIVING
The original lever dampers in conjunction with the leaf springs keep the roadster remarkably well on the road. The suspension values are impeccable and are precisely measured on the test bench at the MFK.
The chrome spoke wheels as well as the tyres are completely new and give the TF a noble appearance. Top marks go to the underbody, which was completely rebuilt during the restoration and still holds the veteran title today in immaculate quality, undamaged and without any corrosion.

DRIVING EXPERIENCE
What makes the MG TF desirable as a driver's car is its hearty engine, the solid brakes and the exceptionally good comfort. The new seats and the extremely reliable technology allow even a long drive over mountain passes and expressways. Even though the TF is suitable for motorways with its 130 km/ h, the continuous speed should not exceed 110 km/ h. The TF is a real joy on the road. The TF is a real joy on country roads. There it is at home and, with the windscreen down, gives a unique fresh-air experience. It's like riding a motorbike without a helmet, only much safer. When it rains, the hood can be folded up and bolted down in seconds.

RECOMMENDATION
If you're looking for a reliable British sports roadster that exudes a touch of pre-war charm and yet is equipped with 1950s technology, you'll be in for a treat with an MG TF. Anyone who finds a 1500 is also well equipped in terms of performance. And if he has the steering wheel on the left side, then one also enjoys the overview that is usual with us.
One of the highlights are certainly the Brooklands windows, which, when the windscreen is down, let you feel the wind quite a bit and still offer protection. This MG TF has all these attributes and is a wonderful classic that you can quickly fall in love with.
