Description
Series 1 80" - built November 1949.
Great condition, only lightly restored in 1980s, otherwise largely original (except for engine, which is a 1951 2 litre petrol).
This is an honest vehicle which wears its patina nicely - The engine was replaced with a 1951 2 litre petrol sometime in the past, but otherwise, gearbox, axles and chassis are original and in great condition for a 74 year old vehicle. The bulkhead is sound and bodywork is largely unmolested original (albeit with the odd panel showing its journey through three quarters of a century of use).
New springs, tilt and seats were fitted six years ago.
The 600* 16 Traction Mileage style tyres contribute nicely to the originality of appearance, as do the Lucas trafficators and original behind the grill headlamps and bulkhead sidelights.
Jobs that would be worth looking at are a bit of tidying up of electrics under the bonnet and a small waterpump coolant leak to address.
Overall a great vehicle at sensible price.
