Description
When announced, the MG Magnette was very unique in the market place, as mid sized sporting saloon were as yet not fashionable. Designed by Gerald Palmer of Jowett Javelin and Riley Pathfinder fame, the amagnette ZA first appeared in 1953, although sales did not commence until 1954. Today there is much to commend them to Classic car buyers, not least of all is the fact that when you arrive at a show in one, the chances are you will have the only MG Magnette present.
This later ZB version was first registered on the 7th of February 1958. Subject to a restoration, as far as we can ascertain in the early noughties. As some of these MG magnettes can sometimes suffer metal deterioration, we took the precaution to have the car MOT tested. At which time the tester remarked on the car's solid condition. The car has also benefited from new upholstery and very expensive chromework. Other work carried out recently includes a new brake master cylinder, brake hoses and a new horn. The history file cotaons MOT certificates going back to 2000. The car also comes with an MG alloy rocker cover, twin SU/ K & N air filterd. The car is now ready to show.
