SLJ Hackett are pleased to offer another vehicle from the late Brian May collection.
1960 Bristol 406 chassis number 406/ 5316 was in the ownership of Brian for many years, as almost all of his collection was either awaiting restoration, taken apart to make improvements or for sale, 406/ 5316 was a good working/ driving example which he would use often.
The current condition of the car is mechanically good, some recommissioning work would be highly recommended, we would also suggest that the car was thoroughly inspected. The restoration work needed is mostly cosmetic as seen in the photographs albeit there is the appeal to some of having a mechanically sound example wearing aged paintwork.
The 110 Series 2. 2L 6 cylinder matching number engine is still fitted which is extremely unheard of with the 406 model due to the highly desirable engine being poached in period from these cars to be fitted to Bristol engine sports cars (AC’s, Coopers etc).
