This 1954 Bristol 403 is finished in British Racing Green, a traditional and highly suitable colour for the Aerodyne-bodied Bristol. The paintwork presents very well overall, with good depth and a consistent finish, showing only minor signs of age on close inspection and remaining entirely in keeping with the car’s condition and character.
The interior is trimmed in beige leather, with seats and door cards finished with contrasting dark piping. The upholstery presents well, retaining a correct period appearance with light, even patination consistent with careful ownership. The light interior contrasts attractively with the exterior and contributes to a calm, refined cabin environment.
The dashboard retains its original walnut veneer, which remains in good condition and houses the factory instrumentation and switchgear. The overall cabin presentation is cohesive and authentic, reflecting the restrained craftsmanship associated with Bristol Cars in the early 1950s.
Mechanically, this example retains its original Bristol 100A engine, confirming its matching-numbers status. The odometer displays an indicated mileage of 56, 515 miles. The car benefits from a front disc brake conversion, improving braking performance and usability in modern traffic while remaining sympathetic to the car’s character.
The car is accompanied by a good history file, including photographs and invoices documenting past maintenance and works. The V5 records just two former keepers prior to the current owner.
First registered in 1954, this Bristol 403 represents a well-presented and usable example of one of Bristol’s most refined post-war models, suitable for touring, events, or inclusion in a knowledgeable enthusiast’s collection.
This car is exceptional value.
