'Matching-numbers and colors', as confirmed by the Alfa Romeo Heritage Certificate
Full concours-level restoration by Cremonini and Maieli
Delivered new to Milan, Italy, and previously owned by collector Mario Righini
Awarded at Poltu Quatu 2019, 1000 Miglia eligible
This 1900 C SS is a third-series car, featuring integrated fog lamps, the updated dashboard, and a revised instrument layout with two main gauges and four secondary instruments.
The Alfa Romeo Heritage Certificate states that this Super Sprint left the factory on March 29, 1957, but was delivered to its first owner in Milan only on July 16, 1958. It is finished in Blu Cobalto, the same color in which it was originally delivered, with grey fabric and red leather interior trim, and still retains its matching-numbers engine. The car is eligible for the 1000 Miglia and holds the ASI Targa Oro certification, confirming full conformity of the model to its original 1957 specification.
Winner of the 2019 Poltu Quatu concours, the car remains today in true concours condition. This result is the outcome of meticulous work carried out by Carrozzeria Cremonini, responsible for the body and paintwork, and by Interni Auto Maieli, which restored the interior. The mechanical components were fully overhauled, the exhaust system correctly replaced, and all parts restored or renewed where necessary to ensure complete originality. In March 2026 the car was fully detailed, and it’s now ready to hit the lawns of prestigious concourses.
Alfa Romeo positioned the 1900 as 'The family car that wins races,' emphasizing both its practicality and sporting potential. The car’s success in motorsport reinforced this dual-purpose identity. It competed in legendary events such as the 1000 Miglia, the Targa Florio, and various touring car championships, proving its capabilities on both road and track.
It is no coincidence that an Alfa Romeo 1900 C Super Sprint, finished in Matador Red with black leather upholstery, was said to be the favourite of the Shah of Persia, Reza Pahlavi, among the more than three hundred cars in his personal collection.
