Description
1935 Derby Bentley 3. 5 Litre Gurney Nutting Style open Sports
Chassis Number: B-157-DK
Registration Number: CTN12
A beautifully executed copy of Woolfe Barnatos famous Gurney Nutting bodied Blower Bentley. This Derby simply oozes style & goes as well as it looks. As sporting Derbies go it does not get much better or more stylish then this example.
The metallic grey paintwork is in really fine condition as is the black interior leather which extends to the single rear seat equipped with its own windscreen. The car is super tidy under the bonnet & comes with a bill for around £40k of engine rebuild. This was done by Fiennes engineering. The work to the engine included new pistons/ liners, mains, big ends, cam regrind, balancing, block repairs and the extra oil' modification to the crank and fitting of a high capacity pump and oil filter system.
A freer flowing exhaust is fitted. Pleasingly the twin bakelite mushroom style coils are also in situ.
Not much more need be said of this car other then it is in superb driving condition & is faster then almost any 4. 25 litre example I have driven aside from a couple of tuned racers.
