Completed in April 1968 and originally delivered to Ragusa, Sicily, this Fiat Dino 2000 Coupé later moved to Rome in June 1969, where it remained for several decades.
Its unusually well-preserved historical identity provided the basis for a comprehensive restoration carried out with particular attention to authenticity and original specification. The car was completely disassembled, with the body stripped to bare metal before being refinished in its correct Blu Medio factory colour.
The interior was retrimmed in period-correct Sky Black upholstery using materials selected to remain faithful to the original Bertone specification, while the overall presentation retains the understated elegance characteristic of the finest Italian grand tourers of the period.
Mechanically, the restoration was equally extensive. The Ferrari-derived 2. 0-litre V6 engine, five-speed transmission, braking system, suspension, cooling system and electrical equipment were all comprehensively rebuilt or restored, with the objective of achieving not only a high cosmetic standard but also excellent road-going performance.
The car retains its original Italian black number plates, period registration booklets and important factory documentation. Its provenance and restoration are further supported by Fiat Classiche certification, an extensive photographic record comprising more than 200 images, restoration invoices, use and maintenance manual and a complete tool bag.
With its highly desirable specification, preserved Italian provenance, Fiat Classiche certification and comprehensively documented restoration, this 1968 Fiat Dino 2000 Coupé represents a particularly compelling opportunity for the collector seeking a thoroughly restored and authentic example.
