This is a very rare find... one of the very first Mondeos from the production line in early 1993.
It was manufactured about the same time as the press cars. Most of the press cars were GLX spec (two were Ghia), and this is no different to them.
There are a couple of differences to later Mk1 models, such as a Mk4 Escort-type key, different steering wheel, non-heated front screen, slightly differing dials, and no fog lights. However, the car does come with original Ford mudflaps and dealer number plates!
Originally a demonstrator registered to Dagenham Ford due to their close links with the Ford Motor Company, it was one of the first in the UK to arrive here. Since then, the car has enjoyed two careful owners, and all local to the supplying dealership. Can you imagine what it would have been like back in 1993 when the all-new Mondeo was out and the first owner was driving it! I acquired the vehicle for my classic car collection back in April, but having been offered another one for my fleet, something has to go.
The car is in good condition and drives lovely. It never missed a beat from London to Norfolk. Obviously it has PAS, electric windows, sunroof, aircon, original Ford radio/ cassette player, etc. The Ocean Grey bodywork shows little or no signs of any rust, it only has a few marks and scratches consummate with age (23 now!).
Comes with some of the original handbooks and wallet too.
