1955 Ford Anglia Convertible
This car as been owned by me for 35 yrs
it is semi automatic newton drive (manumatic) The brakes have been upgraded to disc on the front and a 107e rear axle the inner and outer sills have been replaced with stainless steel specially made for the car
This is as i believe to be one of only 3 to be made , i bought it from a 80 year old lady in 1984 in just about runnable condition , I was told it was sent away when new back to ford to have leather seats fitted, after that the lady and her husband went to Athens for six months this is where it may have been converted to a convertible but a Irish chap at the NEC told me that they were converted in Ireland , a few days later he Emailed a photo of a Anglia convertible being tested on a track , I also was visited by a chap from the Abbotts register who thinks it could be one of the car they did in the 50'S .
I was told at a ford show at Gaydon that my car is probably the rarest ford in the UK , the car as been valued over the listed price but you could contact me to make a offer
