Having realised I have too many cars, my 1952 Ford Sunliner is for sale.
Imported by me from California in 2013, I am the first and only owner in UK.
Very solid body, as expected from a CA car, and has had only light use in good weather.
The chrome is good and the paint is very presentable, although not to show standard.
Car runs superbly with the flathead v8 (1953 was the alst year for the flathead) and three-speed manual, column change gearbox with overdrive makes it a surprisingly relaxed cruiser at speed.
It has been reupholstered at some point in the past, not by me, in blue and white vinyl.
Electric hood motor failed, so it is now manual , but this can be replaced with hydraulic rams from a 53 car quite easily if you want to. Hood also needs a new rear window zip, and the carpets are getting on a bit.
Brakes and carb overhauled and clutch replaced last summer and barely used since, a very presentable car that you can use right away in the sunshine and improve as it suits you. Cheaper than a Mk2 Zephyr convertible, and with a proper v8!
We are 10 minutes from the A1 at Newark, three hours from Harwich or two from Hull. European buyers welcomed. Will gladly collect you from Newark rail station if you want to view.
