This Porsche 356 1600 BT5 D'Ieteren (#87861) left the Belgian factory on 04 April 1960.
Our Porsche 356 was imported to New York by the largest importer Max Hoffmann. - Interior colour: blue Invoice history since 1993, including restoration and complete overhaul: Mechanical condition: The mechanics are in perfect working order. The extensive invoice history shows that the car has been regularly serviced. The engine compression test and road test carried out by our workshop confirm that the mechanics are in good condition. The engine starts from a standing start and idles smoothly. Once warmed up, the engine revs normally.
The gearbox enters the 4 gears without a hitch, especially the synchros, and the clutch grip is good. As is often the case with older cars, the engine/ gearbox/ axle seal remains average. Chassis: Our test drive confirmed a healthy body, with no visible signs of impact or corrosion, as the photos show. The fundamentals, such as the floor, boot, engine compartment, side members, rocker panels and wheel arches, are in good condition.
During our road test we did not find anything abnormal concerning the handling of this Porsche 356. The braking is balanced and biting. Interior: The interior has been restored while retaining its original appearance, upholstery, carpeting, etc. Body: Our Porsche 356 Type B Roadster is presented in its "Slate Grey 6001" Matching Color, which is in very good condition. All the joints are new and all the doors are aligned correctly.
