Built for me by MG Motorsport 2 years ago at a cost of over £60, 000 this is the real deal. A replica of one of the most beautiful and iconic cars ever built by MG.
Not to be confused with a myriad of other cars for sale sporting the 'Sebring' label.
Still in practically 'as built' condition having covered only 5, 000 miles.
It has all the MG Motorsport upgrades to suspension and handling and displays none of the original car's problems. Effortless to drive, built as a fast road / track day car it is equally at home for long distance touring for which it is supremely comfortable. Triple Weber 45 DCOE carbs with other engine upgrades it was rolling road tested at 190+ bhp at the wheels. 4 speed gearbox with overdrive, plus Quaife ATB differential. 8" X 15" knock on Minilite wheels.
The interior is fabulous with high backed Ridgard seats and high quality carpeting. A Sebring style dashboard sports a Brantz International 3 Pro tripmeter and twin Heuer stopwatches. There is a Safety Devices roll bar at the rear.
The attention to detail on this car cannot be over emphasised - something for which MG Motorsport are well known.
Original, very interesting registration number. V5C in my name. Historic vehicle so no tax or MOT required although it has a current MOT.
This is a very rare chance to own one of these cars fully built by MG Motorsport as they hardly ever come on the open market and at a significant saving on the build price (which would be a lot more now!).

Technical spec -
Engine:
3 litre straight six MGC gas flowed, lead free Peter Burgess cylinder head, block re-bored with new pistons and valve cut-outs in top of block. Cam re-profiled to high lift long duration, with Vernier cam gear. Crankshaft re-ground and balanced with front damper, lightened flywheel and high performance clutch cover. New triple 45 DCOE Weber carburettors. Maniflow Downton style exhaust manifold and twin pipe exhaust system. Rolling road tested at 190 + bhp at the wheels (standard approx 100 bhp).
Ignition:
Distributor MGM modified, 10 degrees mechanical advance plus Magnecor Blue HT leads. Twin coils.
Fuel System: Twin Facet Red top fuel pumps with pressure regulator (3psi). Fuel pipes run inside the car.
Transmission:
Fully reconditioned MGC 4 speed gearbox with overdrive. Completely re-built rear axle with Quaife ATB differential. Wheels are 8'X 15' knock on Minilites with 205/ 60 X 15 Vredestein tyres. Spare wheel is 5. 5 x 15 stowed under rear cover.
Brakes:
Standard discs (Mintex 1144 pads) / drums, with servo assistance. All new aeroquip hoses and pipelines with brake pipes running inside the car.
Suspension & steering: Balljoint front suspension and SuperPro polyurethane bushes all round, negative camber, Spax adjustable dampers and uprated torsion bars at the front with standard anti-rollbar. High ratio steering rack & pinion fitted to reduce turns lock to lock to 2. 9. Gaz adjustable dampers at the rear.
Bodywork:
Flared arches as Sebring works cars with hand rolled aluminium front valance and flush rear valance. Sebring headlamp cowls covering 100/ 80w H4 bulbs. Monza 3. 5 inch filler on rear quarter. New laminated windscreen with safety glass in other windows. Finished in Tartan Red with OEW Roundels & flashes. Leather bonnet strap as works cars.
Electrics:
New wiring harness, multi use indicator stalk/ headlamp dip/ horn. Heated rear screen. Hazard warning lights. Twin coils. High torque starter motor. Battery isolator switch.
Interior:
New Ridgard high backed seats, new trim panels. Rear seating removed and complete tufted carpeting with moulded tunnel and arches. Sebring style dashboard with Brantz International 3 Pro tripmeter and twin Heuer stopwatches, recalibrated speedo and tacho. Special leather Moto-Lita 15" steering wheel. New switchgear as necessary. All switches Dymo tape labelled as period. Rear Safety Devices roll bar.
