Presenting this 1959 Jaguar Mk IX Automatic sports saloon for restoration
- A fresh & exciting discovery, direct from over a quarter of a century in dry storage -
EQUIPMENT:
Jaguar Mk IX standard steel coachwork with sliding steel sunshine roof, four spoke steering wheel & leather upholstery
EXTERIOR:
This example from 1959 has been dry stored for in excess of twenty five years, the car was dismantled for inspecton, prior to restorration work commencing. The car was originally finished in Black & is currently coated in a red oxide finish & naturally requires restoration, however, the chassis appears to be in a very sound condition.
INTERIOR:
After communication with the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust archive, it was confirmed that this Mk IX was originally built & supplied with a full red leather upholstery. Today, the Jaguar still retains much of the original seating with factory hides along with a numerous amount of spare interior parts to aid in the restoration
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
The Mk IX was built with the 3781cc DOHC straight six engine producing 220bhp. This example was ordered & fitted with the optional three speed Borg Warner automatic transmission.
This example from 1959 is offered with a 3. 8 litre engine & many useful spares including pistons etc, two radiators, several spare wheels, wheel embellishers, interior wood timbers, spare bonnet, spare door, front bumper, O/ S/ F wing, rear wheel spats, glass & chrome & much more!
