Where did they go? An original Ford Escort MK2 RS2000 is nowadays very hard to find. They have hardly been produced anyway and many have been sacrificed by the motorsport. What they were meant basically of course, but still … 45 years after the fast Escort went into production, we look at it from an other point of (classic car)view.
What kind of car just came in? In this case, that very real one that is almost impossible to find. Built in 1977, unrestored, completely original and from Germany. The owner drove here for a number of years and then moved to Portugal. The RS was also registered in Portugal until July 2014 and then returned to Germany. Through a genuine Ford Escort specialist, it is now for sale and we are surprised that the car looks so undamaged and cherished after 43 years. Both the outside and the inside, as well as the techniqe are at a very high level. A level that mostly can been seen at real collector cars. But aren’t these types of cars specially built for driving? So those who have a ‘Ford heart’ and would like to continue the history of this RS2000, are very welcome to visit us, but be prepared to be amazed..
