Although, not an original 'Knobbly' Lister-Jaguar, this is an extremely faithful recreation. Belived to be built in the mid-1980s by New Zealander Ray Larsen, who is a world renowned coach builder and engineer, famous for building successful racing Jaguars.
The freshly built engine by Jim Stokes is a 3. 8-litre XK unit producing 360bhp and carries a bespoke inlet manifold complete with water rail, pressure gauge and triple 45DCOE Weber carburettors. Canted over by 8°, the unit also employs a D-Type style dry-sump lubrication system and gas flowed 36" exhaust system. Mated to a D-Type style bell-housing with backward facing starter motor and small circumference clutch, it feeds its considerable power to a Salisbury differential via a Moss close-ratio gearbox that is topped by an XK short lid. Around £179, 000 (fully documented) has been spent from 2010 to 2015 mainly at Jim Stokes in order to produce a competitive and excellent handling example that has such charm and patina that it could have just raced at Goodwood in the 1950s.
