Description
The last of the giulietta speeder series, this Giulia 1600 was launched at the end of 1965. The serial number is AR392468. It benefits from the modifications planned for the Giulietta Sprint GT, i. e. a 1600cc 110 bhp engine, front disc brakes and 2 Weber 45 carburettors giving it 110 bhp. Delivered new in Italy, it was imported into France in 1983 and was owned by the same family until 2023 (including Olivier Fisch, Director of International Automobile Communications). It was the subject of an article alongside its rival, the Porsche 356, in the June 2013 issue of RETROVISEUR magazine (included in the car's file).
The basic restoration work was carried out in 2006 and 2011 (invoices supplied) by: TECNICA AUTO in Paris for the engine, gearbox and brakes, ODS AUTOMOBILES in Asnières for the bodywork: thermal stripping, replacement of corroded parts, full paintwork in the original colour, treatment of the underbody, ESPACE CENTURY in CHILLY-MAZARIN for routine maintenance, electrical work, etc.
In 2024, in addition to routine maintenance, the engine was fitted with 123 IGNITION electronic ignition, a new exhaust system and 4 adjustable KONI shock absorbers. The upholstery is new, black with red piping, as is the complete set of carpets supplied by RETRO ROSSO; a tonneau cover was made from black alpaca fabric for the bonnet. The car was valued for insurance purposes in October 2024 and all the supporting invoices and photos are supplied. This is an exceptional vehicle.
