Description
Internal code: ALF00235
The Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 was one of the most popular models produced by Alfa and enjoyed huge success in competition throughout the 1930s.
Originally launched in 1929 as an evolution of the 6C 1500, winner of the Mille Miglia in 1928, the 6C 1750 went on to enjoy a highly successful sporting career, including a 1-2-3 at the Mille Miglia, with the winning car driven by Tazio Nuvolari, which averaged over 100 km/ h.
The 6C 1750 also achieved top results at the Targa Florio, the Tourist Trophy and the 24 Hours of Spa in the early 1930s.
Production of the Sport and Super Sport lasted just two years, and many 6C cars were built with bodies based on a sports saloon and a coupé.
Our Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 was built in 1931 with a Torpedo body and was first sold new in Milan to Mr Aldo Besnati on 06/ 03/ 1935. He kept it until it was sold to Mr Rotondi of Milan, probably a dealer.
On 30/ 03/ 1935 the car is sold again, this time to Mr Luigi Guarnaschelli of Piacenza, and it receives registration number 5042-PC (the one it still carries today).
In the post-war period, specifically in 1949, the car is re-bodied; the new body is built by Carrozzeria Ferranti in Rome, which is the one the car still has today.
The car still retains its original registration number, and the engine is still the original unit.
Over the years, the braking system has been replaced, converting it to hydraulic operation.
In 2019 the car underwent an important servicing and the engine was completely rebuilt by a specialist in Italy.
In June 2024 the car was serviced again in order to prepare it for the Vernasca Silver Flag.
This is a rare opportunity to own a truly collectible car with well-documented history, and perhaps one of the most collectable Alfa Romeos that inspired Enzo Ferrari to create his legendary empire.
FINANCING AVAILABLE.
The car is currently on display at our showroom in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
