Description
Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport “Freccia d’Oro” in an elegant Dark Blue AM03 configuration with light grey cloth upholstery.
Produced in January 1948 and registered in August of the same year, this “Freccia d’Oro” benefited a few years ago from a thorough conservative restoration that has restored its original charm and efficiency.
The example is presented in a Matching Numbers & Matching Colors configuration, accompanied by CRS ASI noted on the logbook, Alfa Romeo Certificate of Origin and FIVA Identity Card.
A car of great elegance and historical significance, it represents one of the most refined expressions of Alfa Romeo production in the post-war era.
Presented in 1947, the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport Freccia d’Oro marked an important turning point in the history of the Milanese house: it was indeed the first series-produced Alfa Romeo after World War II and one of the last evolutions of the famous “6C” family, born in the thirties under the technical direction of Vittorio Jano.
The “Freccia d’Oro” was a very high-end sports saloon, characterized by elegant and modern lines for the era, with a four-door pillarless body and refined technical solutions. Under the bonnet lay the famous inline six-cylinder OHV from 2443 cc, capable of combining smoothness, performance and reliability, qualities that made the 6C 2500 one of Alfa Romeo’s most appreciated post-war cars.
Produced in limited numbers, the “Freccia d’Oro” is today regarded as one of Alfa Romeo’s most fascinating and sought-after cars of the late 1940s, a symbol of Italian elegance and the industrial rebirth of the Milanese marque.
