Here for sale we have a reasonably rare hard top crossover Series 2a configured in "Station Wagon" specification with rear bench seats and rear windows, giving it the option of carrying the whole family.
On the outside, as with all variants of this type, this vehicle is fitted with all the key features - razor edged bonnet, period wing mirrors, period number plates, maltese grille, period mudflaps etc etc . Correct Military 'Chevron' 750 tyres are fitted, which not only lengthen gearing (for a better cruising speed) but also self-clean and give unrivalled off-road ability, whilst also giving a boost to ride height. Married to the working overdrive, this allows much improved cruising and more relaxed drive. There's also a reversing light which works - a great added benefit for winter driving, and doubles up as an evening loading light too.
The interior is standard 2a territory with hard dash and no frills, although it still has its heater! The seats are recent and in "as new" order, and the rear benches are a welcome addition too. Deluxe matting is fitted throughout.
Out on the road, this old girl pulls very well, and the extra gearing benefits make the experience quite enjoyable. Should a soft top conversion be required, this can be done to order.
We are told by the previous keeper that this vehicle's 57, 000 miles are believed genuine due to it being dry stored from 1987-2015..... and having done no more than 50 miles since then! We don't have supporting documentation however, so can only pass on this claim and not verify it.
In summary, if you are looking for a 2a of this type, but need the hard top for both security and passengers then this is worth considering. It's also got that overdrive and free wheeling hubs too, both being welcomed benefits.
