Description

History of the BMW E9 Coupé The BMW E9 Coupé is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable cars in the history of the automobile, and remains the epitome of elegance and performance to this day. In 1968, the 2800 CS was presented at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, a model that already laid the foundations for the future success of the E9. With the introduction of the 3. 0 CSI in autumn 1971, equipped with powerful fuel injection and 200 bhp, the coupé really took off. The design of the E9 is a masterpiece in itself. The elongated bonnet, curved lines and sleek profile make the 3. 0 CSI an absolute eye-catcher on the road. The famous 'Hofmeister bend' on the C-pillar, a design trademark, was invented by Wilhelm Hofmeister. But the influence of Italian design art cannot be ignored: the stabilising bend already found its form in the BMW 3200 CS by Giorgetto Giugiaro, who worked at Bertone. This harmonious fusion gives the E9 a lightness and filigree that are unrivalled in the automotive world. But the E9 isn't just a feast for the eyes. Under the bonnet lies the powerful 3. 0-litre six-cylinder engine, which delivers impressive driving performance. With acceleration from 0 to 100 km/ h in well under eight seconds and handling that shines on motorways and winding country roads alike, the 3. 0 CSI delivers a driving experience that combines sporting demands with effortless comfort. The E9 was not only a star on the road, but also on the racetrack. As the base vehicle for the legendary BMW Motorsport racing cars of the 1970s, it enjoyed numerous successes and set milestones in motor sport. Its combination of technical perfection and Italian design made it one of the most coveted models of its era. With only 8, 144 examples produced, the 3. 0 CSI is still a highly coveted collector's item. To take your place behind the wheel of this coupé is not only to experience the fascination of a bygone era, but also to discover a piece of automotive history that makes the hearts of car fans around the world beat faster. The BMW E9 3. 0 CSI - a timeless masterpiece that has lost none of its appeal, even today. History of the BMW 3. 0 CSI -SSC-524 offered here Quote from BMW Classic: The BMW 3. 0 CSi, FIN 22601xx, was produced on 14. 09. 1971 and delivered on 29. 05. 1972 to BMW dealer Wiegele in Gockhausen. The original colour was "Chamonix", colour code 085. In October 1973, Mr Fritz B. from Vienna imported this BMW and sold it on the day of registration to Mr Gerhard D. also from Vienna, registration number W-677706. On 09. 07. 1975, the ownership of this vehicle changed again to Mr Thomas G. from Kronenburg in Austria. New registration N669990. Mr G. drove this vehicle until 16. 11. 1981, when the BMW was deregistered and the tax card handed in, then put into storage. It was not until the beginning of 2000 that it was rediscovered, restored at great expense in "fjord blue metallic" and re-registered in Vienna in 2006 under registration number W-47893 U. From then on, this BMW 3. 0 CSI was only occasionally used at classic events. As luck would have it, Scuderia Sportiva Colonia had the opportunity to acquire this CSI in 2022. As the paint finish was not up to scratch, we decided to restore this BMW to its original Chamonix White/ Velvet Blue configuration. The engine and 5-speed gearbox were also completely dismantled and overhauled. The suspension was completely renewed, the shock absorbers replaced, the braking system overhauled with new discs and pads, and the tyres replaced. This CSI is fitted with Alpina 16" wheels, an Alpina steering wheel, an Alpina gear knob, a reinforcement bar - also known as a stabilisation bar - and a CD radio. We can, of course, meet individual equipment requirements (steering wheel/ wheels/ radio configuration). In short, a perfect, like-new BMW 3. 0 CSI in one of the most elegant colour combinations awaits its new owner. This car still needs to be run in according to factory specifications. We also offer a one-year warranty, provided that all the necessary service work is carried out in-house. Summary Scuderia Sportiva Colonia has paid particular attention to these technically advanced coupés. At the beginning of the 70s, the ravishing shape, the excellent chassis, the very good brakes and the powerful engine were the absolute benchmark. BMW's slogan "Driving pleasure" is brought to life in the BMW E9 in a unique and incomparable way. The interior pampers its...
