Description
Jaguar E-type Series II roadster
In 1969 this example was delivered to the first owner in the USA. In 1999 it was imported to The Netherlands by a Jaguar lover who restored the car in the following years. After completion it became part of his private museum.
2 Years ago he sold the car due to health issues. Since then we have thoroughly checked and recommissioned the car. The work undertaken includes:
- New wheel bearings
- Checked all electrics
- Engine checked and partially overhauled by Jaguar specialist
- Cilinder head fully overhauled by specialist
- Carburetors overhauled
- Converted to electronic ignition
- Cooling system checked and flushed
- Front brake calipers overhauled and new brake master cylinder
- New convertible top and hood envelope (mohair fabric)
- Etc.
The exterior is painted Primrose Yellow, a period colour that suits the car very well. The bodywork is in good, rust free shape and has very nice shut lines.
The interior looks original. The leather seats are in excellent shape, the original steering wheel shows some patina and the soft top and hood envelope are redone in mohair.
The engine bay is quite clean and received quite some cosmetical attention lately. Various parts are renewed.
The wire spoke wheels are wider than original resulting in a very nice stance. The wheels are shod with whitewall tyres.
