Sold by first owner, a Nottingham Doctor, to firm distributing newspapers throughout Notts. By removing the rear seat classified as a van throughout of the war.
Sold to a student in 1959 to be discovered by RAC patrolman 18 years later in a garage in a sorry state. Restored and recommissioned. The car was used for local events and touring in company. Sold to the 5th custodian who set about a serious restoration in 2011.
The Briggs body was taken back to bare metal and resprayed. Interior refurbished, re-upholstered including doors and headlining. Completely rewired. Chrome parts replated. Cylinder head provided with new valves and guides.
Recently bearings and oil seals in the rear axle replaced, the brake system overhauled including new linings. Carburettor and distributer have been rebuilt. All lights updated to LED.
This elegant pre-war touring car is now in first class order on a new set of tyres. Restored and maintained to preserve its originality.
