Today we are offering a 1967 Riley 4/ 72, the top of the range Farina model. The Riley came with twin-carbs and increased power to 72bhp. Hence the model name! This proud old girl has had quite a few thousand pounds lavished her on recent years. Some of the work includes full re-paint, re-chroming and new leather interior to correct up-market Riley spec. There are still one or two fiddly tasks to attend to from what I have been able to ascertain although, from what I can ascertain, that appears to apply to some small electrical work here and there. She is an auto model, as many Riley farinas were, and she drove around the yard in and out of her gears without trouble when she arrived. She had brakes then, although now she does not. So either they need bleeding or else there is a fluid leak. I don't know. I don't think she has had much use at all during the past few years and thus needs some "weekend tinkering" to get her back on track. Context is all and so hence my asking price. I have neither the time nor the inclination to start working on these old girls and thus she is listed as a project even though the bulk of the major, expensive work has been done.
My classic cars are motoring antiques. Please do not confuse them with your one-year-old Range Rover. This car, for example, is 55-years-old and so will have quirks and faults in there somewhere. These are not always apparent when buying and selling classics which is what I do. I do not restore them, nor do I pretend that they are concours cars. The majority of them go out as they came in, and I continue to enjoy finding more - a skill which is becoming increasingly difficult as many of you will be aware. They deserve to be taken on as "family pets" and cared for through thick and then. They don't make them any more and demand now out-strips supply.
