The Appeal
In 1983, the XJ-S seemed to have reached the peak of British motoring - one of the most aspirational cars out there. Jaguar were eagerly keeping their ear to the ground in order to achieve higher sales, and one of their first ports of call was this was - THE XJ-SC. Bridging the gap between the FHC and the Convertible, it was just the ticket for the well-to-do driver, but the public didn't get the memo, and they've become particularly scarce amongst the car's number.
This 1987 example presents in white over blue leather with a matching blue roof — a striking combination that suits the car's lines handsomely. Showing 31,493 miles on the odometer and described by the vendor as having genuine mileage, it is reported to have been garaged throughout its life and has never been restored. The vendor informs us that the leather, wood trim and alloy wheels are all in very good condition, and the car is fitted with nearly new Pirelli tyres.
A history file accompanies the car, including old MOT certificates and invoices. It's a grand example of a lesser-spotted Big Cat, and we're sure it'll garner plenty of interest at auction.
