The Appeal

The 996 catapulted Porsche into a new era, and with good reason. As usable as it was capable, thanks to the firm’s legendary engineering, and with a version to suit all sporting tastes, it’s perhaps no surprising that these cars are beginning to garner serious attention from modern classic enthusiasts.

Canny buyers favour this car, the Carrera 2, with buyers and reviewers reasoning that it does everything you need if your plans involving actually using your car regularly. As a 2003 car this one is a desirable facelift model with the larger, improved 3.6L 320bhp flat six engine, here mated to Porsche’s versatile Tiptronic auto box.
