The Appeal

The Maserati 4900 sits at the pinnacle of the Indy range, being the rarest displacement variant and the most powerful iteration of this elegant grand tourer. With its 4.9-litre V8 and distinctive Vignale styling, the 4900 is highly prized among Maserati collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.

Our 1971 example has recently undergone a comprehensive restoration that has returned it to very good condition. The body restoration was thorough, eliminating rust and fitting new floor panels before receiving fresh metallic grey paint in 2025. The interior has been completely retrimmed in new tobacco leather with new floor mats, while the mechanical side received equally comprehensive attention with a full overhaul in 2025 covering the engine, gearbox, clutch, brakes, carburettors, and brake master cylinder.

Of particular note is the conversion from automatic to manual transmission by a previous owner - a desirable modification that enhances the driving experience of this powerful GT. The vendor reports that the car now drives easily and as it should, ready to be enjoyed immediately.

Acquired in Belgium approximately ten years ago and always stored in dry, climate-controlled conditions, this Indy 4900 ticks all the right boxes.
